Aces and Eights and the rest...

Last night saw the Kunst out for a birthday celebration at Aces and Eights in Tufnell Park. It's a rock'n'roll bar that has 2 for 1 cocktails 6-8pm every day! That should be reason enough for ya to check it out, but they also do stellar pizzas and have a totally kick ass juke box. Our advice to you is to head over there for a good night out.

In other news on the MK front, we've been hard at work mixing our demos (when not drinking cocktails) and they are nearing completion. We'll be posting them here for your listening pleasure as soon as they are done so check back soon!

Got some awesome gigs on the cards for 2012 and we will be keeping y'all posted right here with those details too. We're also planning some video interviews with bands we gig with to bring you an inside scoop and keep your asses entertained - email us ( if you've got any suggestions for us to consider.

We've gotta give a big shout out to Rose Dennen from Big City Redneck for writing our bio for us. Have a look at is and also be sure to read the ace interview she did with punk rock legends the New York Dolls.

Hope to see you at the Steel Panther/Crue/Def Leppard gig in a couple weeks. Rock'n'roll, motherfuckers!

Let the good times roll...

We've been very busy girls, but that's not stopped us from having fun! It just means that this is gonna be a bit of a long one. Must pick ourselves out of the gutter and pry ourselves from our instruments from time to time in order to update the site, eh?

Finsihed recording with the fantastic Felix - now we are just working on the mix and all that jazz. Our 2 song demo should be up and out soon. We had a wicked time working together in the studio and it is sounding awesome.

We've also been playing loads of gigs with more coming up, so don't miss us! Last weekend saw us at the Fighting Cocks in Kingston with the brand new sleazy glam rock tribute outfit Spandex Love. It was cool to see them rock their first gig! You can listen to what you missed here and make sure you like 'em on the Facbook. Bring on the next gig, boys. We can't forget to say a massive thanks to Jamie for having us - the night ended with some shots and dancing on the bar, which is no bad thing!

But the action didn't stop...Saturday saw us heading down to Denmark Street for some bits and bobs...then it was up to Stoke Newington for Bitchin' Chops presents: Conservative Party. We rocked the house with Honeykill and promoter/DJ Minna Colada.

Sunday was not a day of rest for the UK's only all girl Motley Crue tribute band, but instead saw us rocking out to some of the finest glam trash rock bands in town: Damn Dice, Kitty Lips and Guns 2 Roses! Out of towners Vintage Collection from Essex and LoveBite from Birmingham rounded off the bill. The bands totally rocked and it was a fun, sloppy, slightly outta hand night - just what we like! Make sure you check out these bands when you can. Like, right now. I'm sure we'll be posting more about this lot in the near future.

We managed to get through Monday and last night rocked the Purple Turtle in Camden with Indigo Down. Our first time on a big (ish) stage was pretty special. We had a lot of fun and the crowd was cool. Legendary!

Just gotta survive til the end of the week - then we're playing Friday for Lord Muck's Nasty Grind. Check the gig page for all the juicy details. See ya at the bar - and make ours a double!

Wrestlers & Shakespeare

Well, that sums it up really! So let's get down to the dirt...

Last week the Künst were privileged to be part of a photo shoot by the fantastic Tom Hunter for the Royal Shakespeare Company. A modern take on the classic A Midsummer Night's Dream, the shoot involved pearly kings and queens, carnival dancers and yours truly! We portray The Mechanicals, with the gorgeous (as always) Ms. DeVille featured as Bottom. The cast and crew were all fabulous and we had loads of fun shooting at the Mildmay Club in Stoke Newington. We can't wait to see the finished photos! In the meantime, here's a sneak peak of us on set.

The weekend sawing us hit up Resistance Gallery in Bethnal Green for the Lucha Britannia show. Latex-clad guys and dolls, Mexican wrestling masks, spandex, comedy, cabaret, burlesque...they've got it all! Good times.

So, onto this week and we've been rehearsing for our impending recording session. Looking forward to working with the fabulous Felix at Tigersonic Studio. She also runs the Smart Women's Recording Club, giving free recording studio workshops for female singers and musicians - yes, that's right, free! Girls, don't pass up a good opportunity to gain some knowledge about the studio (she does also sometimes run mixed group workshops as well, so don't feel left out, boys).

We'll report back soon on how it all goes and have hopefully have some tracks up too!

What a weekend!

Well, it's been a busy one! Where to begin?

We had an awesome gig on Friday night at Club for Losers at St Moritz. Stash and Kiria were great and we also met some fabulous folks as well - with a big thanks to Max Mitchell for organising the night.

Loaded in, sound checked, then nipped around the corner to the Candy Bar for a quick one before the gig. We hung out with Stash and the lovely Shona, Sharon Stiletto and Father Michael. Good times!

Then it was back to St Moritz and we took to the stage around 11pm (there was a bit of a delay due to a missing high hat, but all was quickly sorted!). Check us out doing Saints of Los Angeles and the high quality camera work of The Stabilisers' guitarist Istvanski!

After the gig we all had some drinks and hung out a bit. Met the really cool Jez & Mauro from Jonny Cola & the A Grades who will be playing next Friday's Club for Losers - check them out if you get the chance.

Saturday saw some messing about with logos and screenprinting which was actually quite exciting! We're looking forward to making our own t-shirts and other goodies. It is a lot of fun and totally recommended as an excellent way to spend an afternoon. After a cleaning ourselves up (yes, we are dirty girls), it was off to a gig at Camden Rock.

Live! at Camden Rock is a new monthly by Phoenix Promotions. A fiver on the door, we rocked up and caught the tail end of the first band Carnage from Manchester - high energy sleazy rock with a chick singer, they ended their set with a Crash Diet cover.

Next up, The Royal Cartel took the stage and blew us away. Heavy and hard-hitting, they sounded good and rocked the stage. We got their 6 song cd for only two quid (bargain!)from the totally awesome chick bassist Lzi. Give 'em a listen - they've got some tracks on their website too, but this is really a band that you need to see live to get the full experience and energy.

The headliners and crowd favourites Damn Dice finished off the night. We had to run off to another party so only caught the first bit of the set. We'll let their bio do the talking here: "Damn Dice are an emerging, new band, equipped with a high energy, powerful, hard rock sound. Their unrivalled stage presence is equally matched with the glamorous image of four, long hair, sexy looking guys dressed to kill." What else can we say?! You can catch the opening for the LA Guns European tour - nice one, boys!

August is pretty quiet here as we'll be busy preparing to go into the studio to record some tracks. We've got upcoming gigs in September at Ryan's Bar in Stoke Newington, The Purple Turtle in Camden and Cock Tavern in Kingston - details tba!

Keep rocking!

Gig stuff!

Ok, last night we had a short notice gig at the fantastic Indo on Whitechapel Road. If you've not been, you need to. They do pizzas that are totally yum and the crowd is really friendly!

Thanks to Luca from Psychic Pussy for getting us the gig and to Dave the manager for being so cool (he's also in The Brute Chorus - if you don't know 'em, then check them out!).

Our next gig is this Friday! We're playing with Kiria and Stash at St Moritz Club for Losers in Soho.

Come on down and say hello - we're on about 10ish!

Video of our first gig!

Ok folks, here it is - video of our first gig! Bear witness to the fabulous hot rock chicks in London that are known as Mötley Künst!

It's our first gig but it still rocks.

Big love to everybody's favourite South London gypsy punks Drunken Balordi who headlined with a kick ass set and organised the night at the Windmill, an awesome venue in Brixton.

Shout outs to Long Tall Shorty and We Are In Demand for great sets by both bands!
